-1 to Fight

Shifts

Inspired by: the Sage, Mentor, and Hermit (tarot), Wizards, Clerics, Rangers, and Paladins.

More a thinker than a doer, the experienced prefers a well conceived plan than they do rash action. Structured and steeped in ritual or routine, they are observant and make changers to their behaviours only when forced or provided with adequate proof or evidence that it is necessary.

While there is space and time on the experienced life for books, much of their choices come from life experience. This means that while their choices and advice might be well thought out, they are not without biases. As such, the experienced may not be old chronologically, but rather a young person with a life of experienced.

Voice of Reason

Innate

When competing with a series of hot heads and temperamental party members, you can roll fawn with your fate bonus should you choose in order to allow cooler heads to prevail.

bACK IN MY DAY

Earned

By telling a story of your experience that others might find trivial or dull - or worse, overtold - roll fawn. On a success, you either bore them into action, or bore them into leaving.

tHESE OLD BONES

Earned

Life has not been easy on you, nor your body. As such, whenever you push yourself to physical extremes to help another person, take +1 to your next roll and -1 to all physical rolls (fight, flight, and freeze) until you are able to rest.

i KNOW WHAT i'M DOING

Earned

Whether through survival mechanisms or a job you've done most of your life, you're able to name one skill - at any time, when you are trying to utilize that skill, you may do so as if you rolled a straight success.

Wait, who are you?

Earned

While you may never forget a face, that doesn't mean you can't pretend. In order to fluster or distract another character, ask them to remind you who you are and roll fox.
